After the fiasco with Yeezy and a fall from hype for the Samba, adidas spent the past few years in a rut, looking for the next path forward to renewed sneakerhead success. In 2025, The Three Stripes found just that with a renewed focus on artists and fashion labels, teaming up with Pharrell for the Jellyfish and some of the streetwear industry’s brightest young success stories for a collection of Superstars. With Young Thug’s Sp5der, adidas combined both approaches, and after dropping a gold Superstar colorway, the collab is still on our mind thanks to new photos of an unreleased red pair.
We first got a glimpse at the red Sp5der x adidas Superstar on the feet of Spanish Soccer Star Lamine Yamal in November of last year. Now, we’ve got a closer look at the candy apple patent leather colorway thanks to an Instagram post from sneaker and streetwear industry insider Lil Jupiter.
