If you’re an adult, the words Brawl Stars might bring to mind images of the Malice at the Palace or your favorite benches-clearing MLB fight. If you’re a kid, or if you have kids at home, the name is almost certainly already in your lexicon. Brawl Stars, the impossibly popular mobile video game that’s taken off like Fortnite with the youth, is ready to enter the world of co-branded footwear collabs, joining adidas for an in-game and IRL partnership.
The Brawl Stars x adidas Adistar Control 5 popped up in new images this week, showing off a grade school-sized collab covered in a bold mix of bright green and pitch black like the character Spike, a cactus in a purple vest with a red puff of botanical hair.
The Spike colorway features a base of cactus green with a wide mesh overlay in black on top across the entire upper. Cactus spikes are added to the green Three Stripes, and synthetic support paneling adds hits of black patent with purple accents. The tongue label is transformed into Spike’s face, with his red hair puffball poking out on top. Lastly, a Brawl Stars tag is featured on the lateral panel for a bit more co-branding.
The Brawl Stars x adidas Adistar Control 5 doesn’t have a release date or retail price just yet, but the pair is expected to drop alongside an adidas activation inside the Brawl Stars minigame, Brawl Ball. It wouldn’t surprise us if more colorways appeared in the coming weeks as the game’s roster of characters runs deep.
