It’s been a hell of an April for adidas. After debuting its lightest performance running shoe yet, the adidas Adizero Adios Pro Evo 3, The Three Stripes immediately raced to the pinnacle of marathoning, with Sebastian Sawe and Yomif Kejelcha both finishing the London Marathon in a staggering sub-two-hour time. The shoe would go on to sell out instantly, and command upwards of $3,000 on the aftermarket. Now, looking forward to May, the brand is back with even more innovation.
The adidas Adizero Dropset Elite was constructed with hybrid fitness racing in mind, and developed with the goal of mixing supreme support and comfort with race-ready energy return. Combining adidas’ Dropset and Adizero lines, the new silhouette is the brand’s most prominent mix of speed and support yet. Debuting in a white base with black branding accents and a gradient orange hit at the heel, the shoe comes correct aesthetically and in advanced performance tech.

"Hybrid fitness racing is surging in popularity, but athletes have been forced to compromise between the cushioning and energy return of a running shoe and the stability and support of a training shoe," said Aimee Arana, Global SVP & GM adidas Sportswear & Training.
"We've eliminated that compromise by integrating the proven technology in our speed-focused Adizero line – known for helping athletes secure over 200 race wins and 29 world records – with the best-in-class technology seen in our Dropset range, which has fuelled victories at some of the biggest cross-functional fitness stages in the world and is worn by top athletes across sports for their training routines. This combination has resulted in a product that delivers pace and power in one shoe for this new era of athletic performance.”
The adidas Adizero Dropset Elite will be released May 15, 2026 through adidas and select retailers in-store and online. Available in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at $275. For all the latest adidas news and drop info, download the Sole Retriever App.
