When Fausto Vitello moved from Buenos Aires, Argentina, to San Francisco, California, as a kid in the 1950s, skateboarding wasn’t even a thing, never mind an industry. No one could have predicted that Vitello would go on to found Independent Truck Company and Thrasher Magazine, altering the history of skateboarding forever. And as branding has evolved since Fausto’s passing in 2006, it would have been hard for him to predict Thrasher’s latest collab - a full circle partnership with the Argentina Football Association.
Thrasher, now run by Fausto’s son Tony, has grown with the times, turning into the online hub for all things skate media, as well as a consumer-facing clothing and accessories company that’s no stranger to celeb hype and wide-ranging collabs. Keeping up the magazine’s ongoing partnership with adidas, the latest collab pack takes things back to the Vitello family’s past and the World Cup present with a soccer-themed collection of clothing, cleats, and, of course, skate shoes.
The Thrasher x Argentina FA x adidas Glenburn takes on one of The Three Stripes’ newest skate silhouettes, adding a full coat of black leather to the Glenburn upper. Argentina blue accents poke out from the underside of the leather, with cream accents on the Three Stripes, heel panel, and laces. An Argentina FA logo sits on the tongue tag, with three gold stars on the heel tab and Thrasher Revista (Thrasher Magazine in Spanish) indented into the black suede beneath the stars.
The Thrasher x Argentina FA x adidas Glenburn will be released Summer 2026 through adidas and select skate shops. Available in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at $85. For all the latest adidas collab news and drop info, download the Sole Retriever App.
