The adidas City Series is one of the brand’s coolest projects. Taking the hyper-local nature of the sneaker scene to its furthest extent, The Three Stripes has traversed the globe with silhouettes dedicated to cities around the world, taking direct inspiration from the landmarks, history, and culture of each locale. After taking the City Series down under to Melbourne with the help of Australian boutique UP THERE in January, the retailer is back with a new pair exclusive to the shop.
The UP THERE x adidas Melbourne Core Black keeps the same silhouette inspired by track spikes used in the 1956 Melbourne Olympics, but this time switches the OG white and green mesh colorway for a blacked-out plush matte leather colorway. Soft suede is featured on the toe and heel and sleek black leather is added on the lace panel and Three Stripes branding.
UP THERE branding is added on the green insoles and lace tips and the white tongue label, with a gold Melbourne hit added to the lateral heel. “After the debut of the adidas Melbourne, we're elated—and a little relieved—to finally reveal our exclusive colorway, a project that we've had in the pipeline this entire time,” UP THERE wrote about the colorway. “It comes dressed in black, of course—the shade of Melbourne.”
The UP THERE x adidas Melbourne Core Black will be released May 7, 2026 exclusively through UP THERE in-store and online. Available in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at $162. For all the latest adidas collab news and drop info, download the Sole Retriever mobile app.
