Mark Gonzales has always been a visionary. From the early days of street skating, which Gonz helped shape, creating tricks and breaking barriers to his incredible art, which has graced galleries and museums across the globe. Gonz has never been able to paint or skate within the lines, so it makes sense that his latest adidas collab goes beyond skateboarding into the Three Stripes’ TERREX outdoor collection.
The Mark Gonzales x adidas TERREX Collection is highlighted by the TERREX Shmoofoil Skychaser GTX hiking shoe, designed by Gonzales with personal touches throughout. Starting with a white ripstop and mesh base, the Gore-Tex hiker adds cream and tan brown to the toe and heel, with red accents added on the side panel support structure, tongue accents, and heel support. The lacing system features a toggle closure for quick and easy fit. In addition to the sneaker, a clothing capsule featuring artwork by the Gonz will be released as well.
“I’ve always been drawn to where worlds collide,” Gonzales said. “Whether it’s skating or art or the outdoors, it’s all movement, just different surfaces. TERREX builds products that are meant to actually be used and handle real terrain. That mattered to me. I wanted to shape something that performs without compromise, and make sure my world was builtt into it.”
