Denim Tears has a new sneaker partnership on the books, and Tremaine Emory and crew aren’t stopping at just one silhouette. After previewing a Ghana Must Go bag design on the iconic adidas Superstar earlier this week, Denim Tears debuted its new adidas collab collection with another lifestyle classic with the same bag reference, this time on the Stan Smith 80.
The Denim Tears x adidas Stan Smith 80 adds a second silhouette to Denim Tears’ debut collection with The Three Stripes, this time adding even more of the Canal Street-friendly shopping bag design to the low-profile upper. To debut the collection, Emory joined the bootleg sellers in lower Manhattan with a massive Ghana Must Go bag print on the side of a building on Canal Street.
Featuring the cream, black, blue, and red plaid print that moved from Africa to Asia to the global diaspora on shopping and laundry bags across the entire upper, the Stan Smith 80 adds green leather to the heel tab. A Denim Tears logo sits on the tongue, with a gold Denim Tears logo sitting diagonally in gold on the side panel. A Sankofa is added to the heel of both shoes in the collection, an Adinkra symbol of Ghana’s Akan people that means “go back and get it,” a reminder from Emory to the wearer.
The Denim Tears x adidas Stan Smith 80 will be released November 7, 2026, exclusively at the Denim Tears flagship store, African Diaspora Goods, in New York City. Available in unisex sizing, the retail price is still TBD. To keep up with all the latest from Denim Tears’ new adidas partnership, download the Sole Retriever App.
