From its home base in Japan, Asics has pushed a resurgence in the collab space thanks to far-reaching projects from every corner of the sneaker and streetwear industry. From the brand’s multi-boutique Tomo partnership to local collabs with atmos and Liberaiders, Asics is working its way around the globe. For its latest trip, Asics is reuniting with Brazilian streetwear brand PACE for a new colorway of the Gel-Kayano 12.1.
The PACE x Asics Gel-Kayano 12.1 keeps up the creamy white and black color combo that kicked off the partnership in 2023 on the Gel-Quantum 360 VII. This time around, the colorway starts with a base of shiny textured patent leather with reptile skin overlays. The toebox, side, and heel paneling are done in a grey and cream optical illusion graphic pattern, with black patent on the side panel branding to round it out.
Silver hits are added to the heel for a bit more shine, and PACE branding is featured on the lateral side of the toe, tongue, and insoles. In an Instagram post announcing the new collab, PACE detailed the shoe as a connection between Brazil and Japan united by performance and sensorial perception.
The PACE x Asics Gel-Kayano 12.1 will be released March 6, 2026 through PACE, Asics, and select retailers in-store and online. Available in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at $200. For all the latest Asics collab news and drop info, download the Sole Retriever App.
