Taking equal inspiration from 1990s East Coast skate scenes and the boundless nature of Vermont hikes, NYC-based fashion brand Eighteen East has established itself as one of the most consistent brands in the modern streetwear space. In addition to making some of the best pants out (don’t sleep), Eighteen East is expanding its collaboration repertoire with a new partnership on an intricately detailed Asics Gel-Nimbus 10.1.
The Eighteen East x Asics Gel-Nimbus 10.1 is a masterclass in material selection, combining brown, grey, silver, and hits of blue in hemp and cotton mesh, jacquard cotton, and raw-edge cotton canvas across the upper. Crafted with careful thought, the fabrics were selected specifically to show age with time and wear, contrasting a running shoe designed for speed with the leisurely passing of time.
“The primary goal for our Gel-Nimbus 10.1 project was to approach a fast-looking silhouette with slow materials," said Eighteen East designer Samantha Fabry. "By playing with texture and shapes, we substituted performance-driven elements with unfinished, natural textiles to reflect the handmade approach to design that we take as a brand.”

Asics Sportstyle collection has been a force in the sneaker industry over the past few years, riding a wave of mesh runners to renewed prominence and unlikely hype. After a year full of collabs from the Japanese brand, this is definitely high on the list of our favorites.
The Eighteen East x Asics Gel-Nimbu 10.1 will be released September 26, 2025 in-store at Eighteen East’s NYC studio, with an online drop through the brand’s webstore the next day, September 27. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is still TBD. Download the Sole Retriever mobile app to stay updated on the latest releases, raffles, news, and more in the sneaker and streetwear world.
