Hidden NY is one of the more unique success stories in sneaker collaborations. Founded as a social media archive for sneakers and streetwear, the brand moved off-screen and is now an established IRL collaborator for brands like A BATHING APE and Asics. After popping up randomly at an Asics flagship store for a Redditor to find last month, Hidden’s latest Asics collab has finally been confirmed by the brand, with an overseas drop set this weekend.
The Hidden NY x Asics Gel-Kinetic 2.0 takes the archive’s online roots to heart, drawing inspiration from the early exploration of computer art, Michael Green’s book “Zen & The Art of the Macintosh: Discoveries on the Path to Computer Enlightenment.” Starting with a white base, the colorway adds grey accents to the toe and a computerized grey side panel logo, and jewel blue to the Gel heel, while Hidden’s logo shade of green is added to the outsole and the tongue and heel accents.

Zach Harris is a writer based in Philadelphia. His work has appeared in Rolling Stone, Vice, Complex, High Times, and more. He is obsessed with skateboarding and bowling. He is still looking for his first 300. For tips, reviews, and anything in size 10.5 - zach.h@soleretriever.com
The heel of the shoe is the most unique aspect of the colorway, where a structured, hard-paneled upper in white and grey on the front half gives way to a softer, wide mesh mix of white and green at the heel as if revealing a new shoe hidden beneath. Hidden’s circle h logo is added to the toe and heel for a subtle bit of co-branding.
The Hidden NY x Asics Gel-Kinetic 2.0 will be released at a Zen and the Art of Movement event hosted by Hidden in Tokyo, Japan, on May 23-24, 2026, at SO1 Gallery. Expect a wider global release on June 5, 2026. Keep it locked to the Sole Retriever App for any updates as soon as we hear anything.
