One thing about Jordan Brand, they know how to celebrate a birthday. The Air Jordan 12 is celebrating 30 years next year, and the Jumpman already has plans in the pipeline, including the return of the Air Jordan 12 Obsidian. It has been well over a decade since the sneaker retroed, last hitting the shelves back in the summer of 2012. The colorway was amongst the first wave of Air Jordan 12 colorways released back in 1997 and gained popularity since it stepped away from the bevy of Bulls colorways typically offered by Jordan silhouettes. Now, the rare sneaker will kick off the celebration of the sneaker at the start of next year.
The Air Jordan 12 Obsidian Retro OG will be a faithful recreation of the fan-favorite colorway. The sneaker features a navy blue tumbled leather upper with the Japanese rising sun flag design inspiration evident via the stitched panel that stretches from the heel to the toe cap. Brightening up the dark colorway are white accents, including on the laces, leather mudguard, and sole unit.

Additionally, hints of royal blue add a pop to the sockliner and heel tab, while a tinge of UNC blue highlights the Jumpman on the heel tab as well as the 23 branding on the heel. The metal silver eyelets affixed to the second and third holes add a premium feel and echo the lacing specifications of His Airness because everyone wants to be like Mike.
According to zSneakerHeadz, the Air Jordan 12 Obsidian Retro OG will be released January 23, 2027 via Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in full-family sizing, the retail price for the adult size is set at $215.
