Michael Jordan may be long gone from playing in the NBA, but his presence over the league is akin to that of a superhero. He’s got a roster of active players that take the court in Jumpman gear, an even smaller group that have their own sneakers under his brand, and, of course, his work ethic that has inspired basically everyone who plays the game today. We’d say Thanos-level influence, but we’re not trying to put him into the category of villain, though some, cough, Isaiah Thomas, Reggie Miller, the state of Utah, Knicks fans, and the MonStars, cough, may disagree. For the latest release from his Jordan Brand, MJ’s fourth signature sneaker, the Air Jordan 4, is getting a comic book-inspired colorway.

On top of taking inspiration from classic comic book-style graphics and colorways, Jordan Brand is also paying homage to an original Michael Jordan Nike shirt from 1985. This comic T-shirt depicts Jordan dunking, and it’s also expected to make a return alongside the new Jordan 4 colorway. A similar color palette to the graphic used on the T-shirt is found on the pair, with off-white leather used for most of the upper. The top wings eyelet mimics the text bubble used on the shirt, coming in a spiked pink look, while the base layer below the midfoot mesh and the tongue is done in a rainbow color scheme.

On the tongue sits a pink Jumpman, with the heel tab getting an updated Nike Air logo that looks like it belongs in a first-edition Spider-Man comic. Final details on the upper include a white lace set, a pop of red on the bottom wing eyelet, black on the support around the collar, and a black finish on the heel tab. Down below sits a black, cream, and pink midsole paired with a tonal outsole.
The Air Jordan 4 Retro Comic will be released Fall 2026 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in full-family sizing, the retail price is set at $230 (men), $165 (GS), $105 (PS), and $90 (TD).
