Jordan Brand always cooks up something special for the NBA All-Star Weekend, even outside of the usually top-tier warm-up gear. Last year, they served up an Air Jordan 1 with hairy suede overlays and a star-perforated toe box for the festivities in the City of Angels.
For next year’s trip to the desert, Jumpman is giving the Air Jordan 5 a Valley colored remix. Not only is the sneaker an ode to the Phoenix Suns, but it also looks strikingly similar to Shawn Marion’s PE from his star-making stint with the Phoenix Suns. What better way to celebrate All-Star weekend than to honor one of the host city’s greats
According to the mockups, which are always in flux, the Air Jordan 5 Retro Phoenix Suns is reportedly set to stick closely to The Matrix’s PE colorblocking, which borrows from the Fire Red colorway. A white leather base covers the upper with a purple and orange 23 embroidered on the heel in place of Marion’s 31. Additional purple accents pop up on the sockliner and midsole, while orange hits the Jumpman on the heel and tongue, lace lock, and the speckled shark teeth of the midsole. The look is capped off by the icy translucent outsole, which might be the coldest thing in Phoenix.
According to zSneakerHeadz, the Air Jordan 5 Phoenix Suns will be released on March 5, 2027 via Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $215. For the latest news and release dates in streetwear and sneakers, download the Sole Retriever mobile app.
