By the time the Air Jordan 16 Retro Ginger hits retail shelves next year, it will have been more than 25 years since the colorway first dropped, with no past retros in sight. After releasing without much fanfare during Jordan’s final hoorah in a Washington Wizards jersey in 2001, the lack of retro releases has turned the pale yellow colorway into a grail, and finally tipped the scales towards a return.
According to leaked news from @zSneakerHeadz, the Air Jordan 16 Retro Ginger makes its first return in more than a quarter-century next year. Featuring the same makeup as the OG, the pair starts with a ginger-colored toecap and heel, with white leather side panels sitting beneath the sheath.

Like every Air Jordan 16, the removable shoe cover is what immediately draws the eye, and the Ginger pair brings more soft yellow on either side, with a black quilted strip down the middle to match the black hit at the top of the white tongue and the black mesh at the heel. So far, the news of the Ginger 16’s return hasn’t come with new images, so we’re still looking longingly at old pairs from 2001.
The Air Jordan 16 Retro Ginger will be released Summer 2027 through Nike and select Jordan retailers in-store and online. Available in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at $245. For all the latest Jordan news and drop info, don’t forget to download the Sole Retriever mobile app.
