Prior to his rookie campaign in 2019, Rui Hachimura signed a multi-year deal with Jordan Brand, marking the first time a Japanese-born player was signed to the brand. Since then, we’ve seen the Lakers forward launch multiple player-exclusive sneakers, from performance models like the Jordan 34 through 38 to retro models like the Jordan 8 and Jordan 1 Low. Though it’s been over a year since Hachimura dropped a Jordan sneaker, official images of his very own Air Jordan 4028 have appeared.
Rui hasn’t laced up, or should we say zipped up, his Air Jordan 4028 in-game yet, but these official images provide us a detailed look at his player-exclusive take on the hybrid model. A denim material replaces the neoprene shroud that typically covers the Air Jordan 4028, a sneaker that mashes the Jordan 40 with the shroud of the Air Jordan 28, with sashiko-style concentric circles embroidered across the design. Below the shroud is the standard Jordan 40, done here in a tonal navy with white accents on select details.

Inside sits a faux cork insole, with the right shoes hosting a Jordan 40 logo and the left containing Hachimura’s personal logo. Other branding details on the upper include a chrome Jumpman on the lateral heel and a golden Nike Air logo on the heel tab. Finishing the design is the college navy patent leather toe, a white and gum midsole and outsole.
Rui Hachimura’s Air Jordan 4028 PE will be released during the Summer 2026 season through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. It’s highly likely the pair will remain an overseas exclusive.
