Nike and Michael Jordan probably weren’t imagining a simple sneaker endorsement deal would turn into the billion-dollar Jordan Brand empire we know today, but 41 years after the original Air Jordan sneaker, and they’re still adding to Michael Jordan’s signature line. Well, it’s not like he’s lacing them up on the court, but they’re MJ's shoes in name.
Last year, the main Air Jordan line found a surprise hit with the Jordan 40, a shoe that, unlike other late-numbered Air Jordans, was selling out and getting discussed amongst not only ball players but sneakerheads, too. The hope is that the follow-up, the Air Jordan 41, can sustain this hype train, and now, before Jordan Brand can officially unveil the shoe, official images of the University Red colorway have emerged.
Early mock-ups of the silhouette suggested the shoe would have a higher cut, but we can see in these official images of the Air Jordan 41 University Red that it maintains the low-cut from the Air Jordan 40. It actually seems to be more of a refinement of the 40 rather than a massive overhaul, but of course, there are key upgrades throughout. The upper is now reinforced with some type of TPU cage, while we can also see a visible carbon fiber shank placed on the midfoot. Unfortunately, we don’t have the full tech specs for the internals, but we do know the shoe will feature some form of ZoomX foam and possibly more in the tooling.

Branding on the Air Jordan 41 keeps it simple, with a few hits of the classic Jumpman logo located on the vamp and the heel tab. The top of the tongue displays a stylized Air Jordan logo that cleverly incorporates the number “41” into the “A” and “N” of “Jordan.” There’s even branding down on the sole unit, with the heel displaying XLI, the Roman numeral for 41. Finishing the sneaker is the rubber outsole below. As far as the color scheme is concerned, the University Red rendition is coated in a two-tone palette featuring the titular hue and hits of infrared 23.
The Air Jordan 41 University Red will be released Holiday 2026 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $205.
