The Jordan Heir Series may be the latest innovation in basketball sneakers designed specifically for the women’s game, but it isn’t close to Jordan’s first foray into women’s hoop shoes. The 1998 Air Jordan OG was the first women’s exclusive Jordan basketball shoe, and after a two-year retro run at the top of the decade, the Jumpman is running it back with new colorways for the new year.
The Air Jordan OG Black University Red (W) is a fresh take on a classic Jordan color combo, bringing the late ‘90s silhouette back with a retro modern appeal. Combining smooth nubuck, perforated, and dimpled textures across the black upper, the colorway adds University Red hits on the Jumpman branding on the tongue and lateral midsole, plus more red on the outsole like a step back-ready Louboutin.

White is added to the midsole for a splash of contrast, with another red Jumpman on the heel above an embroidered “W.” In addition to the new Bred colorway, the Air Jordan OG will return with a run of updated color combos for its latest retro call-up.
The Air Jordan OG Black University Red (W) will be released Summer 2026 through Nike and select Jordan retailers in-store and online. Available in women’s sizing, the retail price is set at $155. For all the latest news and drop info from Jordan Brand, download the Sole Retriever App.
