New Balance is switching up the hybrid sneaker game. After setting a trend that spread like wildfire with the sneaker-loafer hybrid 1906L, the Boston-based brand is switching it up for Summer 2026, trading the office-ready loafer for the beach-ready sandal on the strap-back 9060 Summer.
The New Balance 9060 Summer Off White is the second colorway we’ve seen of the sneaker-sandal hybrid with an elastic and velcro strap instead of a traditional sneaker heel. The colorway features a monochrome cream upper in a mix of nubuck, wide-knit mesh, and synthetic support panels with a two-tone black and cream “N” side panel logo. The midsole and outsole combine shades of grey, beige, and mauve for a nice bit of contrast.

Beyond the clean colors, the star of the shoe is the heel, which goes full sandal with a cushioned, adjustable strap that can be removed altogether for a full transition to clog mode. The slip-on look also adds a quick-lace system instead of traditional tie laces.
The New Balance 9060 Summer Off White will be released April 2026 through New Balance and select retailers in-store and online, and has been previewed first in Japan by retailer Beauty & Youth. Available in unisex sizing, the retail price is ¥ 19,800 (approx $125). For all the latest New Balance news and drop info, download the Sole Retriever App.
