Originally released in 2001, the New Balance 991 Made in UK wouldn’t receive a v2 update until 2023. From the debut Stone Island collab that October until December 2025, the v1 was off the market, but following an Aimé Leon Dore collab and a string of colorways at the start of the new year, the model is back. Next up for the OG 991 is an earthtone Chipmunk color scheme.
The folks in Flimby just don’t miss, as this Made in UK’s top-notch materials work wonders with the Chipmunk colorway. Premium tan nubuck covers the toe, midfoot, heel, and eyestays, while cream perforated leather sits below, and a darker tan hue is found on the toebox and collar overlays. Trimming the midfoot N logo and constructing the 991 branding on the tongue are more cream shades, which match the lace set and sockliner. Down below sits a two-tone cream and white midsole and a black and grey rubber outsole.

Outside of the Made in UK line, New Balance’s big focus is currently on the Grey Days celebration. So far, we’ve seen no Made in UK models as part of the expansive collection, but it wouldn’t be a surprise if a special pair pops up at some point during the month of May.
The New Balance 991v1 Made in UK Chipmunk will be released May 7, 2026 through New Balance and select retailers online and in-store. Available in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at $270.
