The New Balance Made in UK program is synonymous with quiet luxury and premium construction, but sometimes, it takes a push from the NB’s stateside home base to influence the moves across the pond. After two years out of production, Made in USA lead and ALD founder Teddy Santis brought the 991v1 back for a couple of collab colorways in 2025. That spark pushed the beloved model back into production at New Balance Made in UK’s Flimby factory, and now, we’re seeing more fruits of the retro return.
The New Balance 991v1 Made in UK Oyster Grey is the second inline colorway of the OG 991 since 2023, following a Chocolate Plum colorway that dropped last month. This time around, the Made in UK team takes a luxurious approach in off-white reptile skin, adding croc scales across the entire upper.

Straight from the zoo, the new 991v1 is covered in croc skin from snout to tail, with pistachio colored support panels on the toe and heel adding a little contrast, and a lighter off-white color on the side panel “N” logo. The midsole is a two-tone mix of tan and cream, with black on the outsole to round it all out.
The New Balance 991v1 Made in UK Oyster Grey will be released March 19, 2026 through New Balance and select retailers in-store and online. Available in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at $270. For all the latest New Balance Made in UK news and drop info, download the Sole Retriever App.
