“We got now” might be the mantra for New Balance’s basketball division, but that ethos spreads throughout the entire company. With strong labels like the Teddy Santis-helmed Made in US collection and the craftwork-focused Made in UK line, New Balance already has a litany of classic lifestyle runners making their mark.
The Boston-based brand is on pace for another hot year in 2026, already having introduced a wealth of new models like the lifestyle runner 1830, a pair of new sneakers for the hardwood with the P350 and P400, and the latest member of the ABZORB family, the New Balance 5030.
First revealed via a chromed-out collab with Slam Jam, the New Balance 5030 joins the New Balance 2010 and the New Balance ABZORB 2000 as one of the torchbearers for the comfort-focused tech. The New Balance 5030 draws from the design of the early ‘90s runner, the New Balance 530, echoing its predecessor’s C-shaped overlays with a series of wavy lines that add depth to the clothlike mesh upper.

Devin Robertson is a writer and sneakerhead from Memphis, TN. Outside of sneakers, he enjoys film, comics, and music.
The silhouette is dropping in two shades as a part of its initial offering: a Magic Blue colorway that comes splashed with a blue to white gradient that peaks at the silhouette’s eyelets, and a Black Electric Indigo colorway with a monochromatic purple colorway with a slight gradient that darkens as the upper connects with the silhouette’s black midsole. The slim silhouette is set off by the bouncy ABZORB pods in the heel that come in a translucent shade of purple.
The New Balance 5030 Black Electric Indigo releases on April 1, 2026 via New Balance and select retailers online and in-store. Releasing in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at $120. For all the latest New Balance news and release info, download the Sole Retriever mobile app.
