New Balance has made a name for itself in the sneaker space with decades of iconic mesh and suede runners. But these days, the Boston-based brand has been putting heavy resources into the performance sports side of things, from baseball and skateboarding to football and, of course, basketball. The P400 is the latest iteration of the brand’s BB Foam hoops line, and on the latest pair, NB is throwing subtlety out the window.
The New Balance P400 Limelight is highlighter green across the entire upper, with hits of black woven into the checkered toebox and side panel stripe. The bottom half of the tongue, sockliner, outsole, and midfoot stabilizer are white for a hit of contrast to match the white New Balance tongue logo.

Zach Harris is a writer based in Philadelphia. His work has appeared in Rolling Stone, Vice, Complex, High Times, and more. He is obsessed with skateboarding and bowling. He is still looking for his first 300. For tips, reviews, and anything in size 10.5 - zach.h@soleretriever.com
Beneath the rough armored upper fabric, the P400 adds a dual-foam cushioning system combining EVA Foam and a Fresh Foam X core for supreme comfort on the court or off. In addition to a few in-line colorways ready for the court, the P400 has already been previewed in a high-fashion Junya Watanabe collab for a bit of lifestyle crossover.
The New Balance P400 Limelight will be released April 15, 2026 through New Balance and select retailers in-store and online. Available in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at $130. For all the latest New Balance Basketball news and drop info, download the Sole Retriever App.
