Nike SB's aesthetic superiority on classic Nike silhouettes is due to its deep commitment to storytelling and skateboarding’s lifelong obsession with style, but it's also thanks to technical necessity. Suede simply skates the best and lasts the longest, so when it comes time to put together shoes made for skating, suede is often the first choice, and always makes for a better-looking shoe.
The latest Nike SB Dunk Low to benefit from skaters’ love for suede is the Mineral Slate, featuring a pale pink color on the toe, lace panel, and heel, with slate green covering the rest of the upper on the toebox, side panels, tongue, and ankle collar. The side panel Swoosh is a dark navy blue to add a bit of contrast.
Adding another skater-friendly and aesthetically pleasing choice, the outsole is a tan gum brown for a bit of extra grip. We first saw an early sample of the Mineral Slate SB Dunk last summer, but since then, the colorway has shifted significantly, with pink replacing an original cream suede design.
The Nike SB Dunk Low Mineral Slate will be released Summer 2026 through Nike SB retailers in-store and online. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is slated at $120. For all the latest Nike SB news and drop info, download the Sole Retriever App.
