Of course, she has her own All-Star colorway. A’ja Wilson, the reigning WNBA MVP, DPOY, Finals MVP, scoring champion, and blocks leader couldn’t possibly miss out on the NBA All-Star action.
Joining a collection that includes a multitude of Nike’s other signature athletes, including Devin Booker, Kevin Durant, Giannis Antetokounmpo and fellow WNBA superstar Sabrina Ionescu, is the Nike A’One All-Star Weekend. While it may not get the premium molded upper found on the rest of the collection, the A’One does come with a glossy metallic finish that seamlessly slots it into the All-Star assortment.
After images of the grade school colorway made their way online, official images of the adult silhouette have arrived. The A’One All Star Weekend radiates similar energy to Wilson’s debut Pink A’ura colorway but with a more monochromatic flair. Pink colorways are a staple of Wilson’s, with her pink wig taking over the WNBA season last year.
That hue means more to Wilson than just her hair, as it represents her sisterhood as a part of Alpha Kappa Alpha. The breathable mesh upper comes dressed in a gradient of pink hues while adding a bit of texture to the otherwise glossy silhouette.
Speaking of gloss, shiny patent leather adds a bold statement piece to the footwear. The material is found on the eyestays, wrapping around to the heel counter, and on the tongue. Black details found on A’ja’s logo on the tongue, heel, and Swoosh add a visual break in the rosy silhouette. A glossy pink midsole and special embroidery found under the tongue complete the standout look.
