Today, the WNBA signature sneaker landscape is in a much better place than it was over the last twenty years. Today, there are five active WNBA players with signature models: Breanna Stewart, Sabrina Ionescu, Caitlin Clark, A’ja Wilson, and Angel Reese. But this is nothing new, and if we look back to the first decade of the WNBA’s existence, there were seven active lines at the same time. One of these was Dawn Staley’s Nike Zoom S5 line, which, unfortunately, only lasted for two sneakers. Thankfully, we now have another chance to cop some Dawn Staley sneakers, albeit not her own model, as she is getting her very own colorway of the Nike A’Two.
A’ja Wilson’s second signature sneaker undergoes a makeover to mimic the OG colorway of Staley’s Nike Zoom S5, which featured a clean black and white palette. The armored upper of the A’Two is rendered in white, with a monogrammed black base layer used on the toe, portions of the eyestays, and heel. Accenting pops of yellow are found on the tongue tag and pull tab.

The color palette may not scream Dawn Staley at first, but there are plenty of details that cement this as her very own A’Two colorway. Staley’s name is spelled out via a metallic silver lace dubrae, and once you move up top, you’ll find that her Nike signature logo has replaced A’ja’s on the left sneaker. This trend continues on the yellow and black checkerboard insole, and her logo makes a final appearance on an added hangtag. Finishing the shoe is the white foam midsole paired with a grey and yellow outsole.
Beyond the fact that Dawn Staley and A’ja Wilson both have signature sneakers with The Swoosh, their connection runs far deeper. Staley coached Wilson at the University of South Carolina, where they won an NCAA championship together. Their bond has only strengthened over the years. Staley was even able to personally tell A’ja that her jersey was being retired at South Carolina, and Wilson continually gifts her former coach exclusive pairs of her signature sneaker.
Dawn Staley’s Nike A’Two will be released September 18, 2026 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at $145.
