Footwear brands have been preparing for the FIFA World Cup to take over the North American continent. There are a ton of different planned sneaker releases tying in with the tournament, both official and unofficial, and even though adidas is the leader in this space, Nike is poised for a big World Cup in 2026. We recently got a look at a Brazilian Football Confederation Nike Shox R4 and know that other countries, like the US, England, and France, will also have sneaker collabs dropping in the coming months. Alongside these official partnerships with federations, Nike will pay homage to Mexico, which has a contract with adidas, via the Air Max 95.
Seen here is a sample version of the Nike Air Max 95 Big Bubble Mexico, done in colors that match the nation's flag. On the layered side panels, we see a cream hue applied to the four stacks of leather, but a green dotted flame graphic dances from the toe toward the collar. Burgundy re nylon lace loops keep the vintage cream laces in place, which rest below a red and green Air Max logo on the tongue.
If the colors weren’t enough to prove this is an homage to Mexico, the heel tab has “MEXICO” on the left pair and “EL TIEMPO F.C.” on the right. Inside sits the Spanish phrase “Amor que no se apaga,” which translates to “Love that never fades” in English. The sneaker is finished with green on the sockliner, green on the leather toecap, a vintage cream foam midsole, green Air bubbles, and a green outsole.
The Nike Air Max 95 Big Bubble Mexico will be released Summer 2026 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $200.
