At this point, it's fair to say that the 95 is the king of Nike’s Air Max line. After an obsessive focus on the silhouette for last year’s 30th anniversary, the Air Max 95 is still at the top of Nike’s retro lifestyle list, with pairs dropping in collab colorways, holiday exclusives, golf and skate versions, plus an endless run of classic retros.
Nike’s latest Air Max 95 retro is a return to 1995 with a Big Bubble retool of the white and gradient blue Slate pair. We’ve seen a few retros of the Slate colorway over the years, but it’s been 11 years since the pair last dropped. This time around, the OG-style big bubble construction brings the pair back to its mid-90s look.
Featuring white on the T-toe and bottom wave of the side panel, the rest of the upper builds on a classic gradient pattern, with side panel strips in blue going from light at the bottom to dark towards the laces. The top mesh goes back to white, with dark blue lace loops to match the Air Max tongue logo. A bright teal accent is added on the mini Swoosh at the heel.
The Nike Air Max 95 Big Bubble Slate will be released May 7, 2026 through Nike and select retailers in-store and online. Available in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at $190. For all the latest Nike Air Max retro news and drop info, download the Sole Retriever App.
