We’re getting back to sneaker nicknames instead of collabs, and we couldn’t be happier. As Nike continues to roll out new colorways of the retro retooled big bubble Air Max 95, the latest colorway immediately evokes memories of flipping comic books, taking on a Wolverine nickname for its combo of blue and yellow accents like the early X-Men uniforms.
The Nike Air Max 95 Big Bubble Wolverine starts with a classic black T-toe that wraps around to the bottom wave of the iconic side panel strips. Above the black, a bright hit of blue adds some color, before switching to grey and then white on the two panels. More white is added to the mesh portion of the upper, while yellow pops from the Air Max tongue logo and the border of the blue mini Swoosh on the lateral heel.

Despite past collabs between Marvel and sneaker brands, this pair isn’t actually connected to the X-Men at all, but with blue and yellow accents plus a steel grey reference to Wolverine’s metal-infused skeleton, the colorway’s name makes perfect sense to us.
The Nike Air Max 95 Big Bubble Wolverine will be released Summer 2026 through Nike and select retailers in-store and online. Available in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at $190. For all the latest Nike Air Max news and drop info, download the Sole Retriever App.
