Nike’s Yard Runners Collection has been highlighting HBCUs through footwear projects all throughout the 2020s, using silhouettes like the Nike Terminator, Air Force 1, and Dunk Low. Of course, with the Air Max 95 becoming the focal point for Nike in 2025 (the model turns 30 this year), it’s not hard to imagine The Swoosh using the sneaker on this year’s Yard Runners pack. That seems to be the case, as official images of a Spelman College x Nike Air Max 95 have appeared.
Sergio Lozano’s human anatomy-inspired design comes in the college’s color scheme of blue, black, and grey applied to the wavy panels on the midfoot. Starting at the bottom is grey leather that transitions into darker grey, then into varying blue hues. The top panel even features jaguar print on the blue suede, a nod to the school’s mascot.
