After lighting up the NCAA court, taking the WNBA by storm, and getting some of the best Nike Kobe PEs we’ve ever seen, Caitlin Clark is finally dropping her own signature sneaker. Clark has been teasing the Caitlin 1 throughout this week, first by changing her Instagram handle to “caitlin1,” then swapping her profile picture on the platform to upclose shots of the shoe’s upper. She even slyly revealed the global launch date of the first colorway via a fit check before the Fever game on June 16, with her friendship bracelet displaying the October 1, 2026 date. Now, after Caitlin gave us some early looks at the shoe in full via an IG dump, including a picture of Travis Scott wearing the sneaker, Nike has officially unveiled the Nike Caitlin 1.

Caitlin had told Travis and Jason Kelce on their New Heights podcast, “The technology that we’re gonna put into it isn’t anything that they’ve ever put into a basketball shoe before,” and we now know exactly what she was referring to: Opticast. The tech is used across the upper to create the polyurethane nodes that create a “C” shape on the lateral side and the number “2” on the medial side.
It helps achieve a look similar to what Eric Avar designed for Kobe Bryant on the Nike Kobe 6, a shoe that Caitlin has loved throughout her playing career, but they serve a purpose by reducing drag on the shoe since they form a wave-like pattern. As for cushioning, Nike uses Cushlon foam in the midsole for a soft, plush underfoot experience, and an Air Zoom Turbo unit in the forefoot for a snappy, responsive boost.

Caitlin spoke on getting her own shoe, saying, “Having my own shoe has been a dream for as long as I can remember, and seeing it come to life is pretty incredible. I wanted it to reflect how I play—fast, confident, and ready to let it fly. Nike and I really crushed it. It was a true partnership. They listened to every detail, and the innovation is designed for my game. Seeing the finished product for the first time will forever be a core memory.”
The Nike Caitlin 1 Racer Blue will be released October 1, 2026 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in unisex, GS, and PS sizing, the retail price is set at $140, $115, and $105, respectively.
