Giannis Antetokounmpo, bienvenido a Miami. The two-time MVP is taking his talents to South Beach as part of a massive trade from the Milwaukee Bucks to the Miami Heat. Giannis may not be taking his brothers down to Miami, but he is bringing a new model of his signature sneaker, the Nike Giannis Freak 8.
After debuting the silhouette in a bright shade of pink perfect for the Heat’s Vice jerseys, Giannis followed it up with low-key white and grey colorways. Now, a third low-profile colorway, the Nike Giannis Freak 8 Black White, has appeared, but this one is another perfect fit for the Heat’s iconic black jerseys.
The Nike Giannis Freak 8 Black White features a synthetic black textured synthetic upper with a structural TPU piece to enhance support and foot security. Aiding that secure feeling is the dynamic curved white midsole that mimics a wing shape in a nod to both Giannis’ Greek heritage and Nike’s namesake winged goddess of Victory. A black textured foam cutout adds a glossy look to the overall matte colorway.
Matching the white midsole are white mini Swooshes on the black side panels. Underfoot, full-length Cushlon 3.0 adds the bounce and the shock-absorption needed for a titanic high-flyer like Giannis. A black outsole sandwiches the statement midsole, while a raised metallic silver tongue bearing Giannis’ signature logo completes the look.
