Giannis Antetokounmpo may be the new kid on the block in Miami, but his legacy is already cemented in the Hall of Hoops. When all is said and done, Giannis will have a statue in Milwaukee. While the statue isn’t being built just yet, the two-time MVP has been leaning into it with a handful of Etched in Stone colorways that serve as a stamp to his on-court resume while also playing into his Greek heritage and the rich artistic history of the nation. The Nike Giannis Freak 8 lifts the theme that was last seen on the Nike Zoom Freak 4 and the Giannis Immortality 2 as the Herculean hooper heads to South Beach.
The colorway takes the black and white swirl aesthetic found on the outsole of the Zoom Freak 4 and applies it to the upper and outsole. Breaking up the nearly hypnotic look is a black midsole that itself is colored to look like a different type of marble, but the minimal veining on the wing-shaped midsole allows it to ground the colorway without overpowering.

Small gold Swooshes on the side panel add a shine to the silhouette. Hints of lime green on the heel, tongue, and outsole complete the look. A lighter white marble-like colorway was spotted on foot during the Giannis trade saga over the summer, so there’s a likelihood there may be variations of the colorway on the way.
The Nike Giannis Freak 8 Etched in Stone will be released on August 21, 2026 via Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $125.
