Although Ja Morant couldn’t make it through the NBA Playoffs, we’ve begun to receive more info on his upcoming third signature sneaker with Nike, the Nike Ja 3. Alongside the debut Max Volume colorway, Morant has plans for another vibrant colorway on his new sneaker, more specifically, a pair dubbed Hustle & Flow.
The mismatched silhouette comes split between a laser orange-based color on the right and a Grizzlies-friendly navy and light blue on the left. The ties to Memphis, the city Morant calls home during the NBA season, are strong thanks to the color palette, but the naming convention also is a direct homage to the city. Hustle & Flow is the same name as the 2005 film starring Terrence Howard, where he plays a hustler and pimp in the city of Memphis, struggling to turn his life around by pursuing a rap career.
The film follows Howard’s character, DJay, as he pours his pain, ambition, and hope into his music in an attempt to escape his circumstances. It was both a critical and cultural success, earning an Academy Award for Best Original Song with It’s Hard Out Here for a Pimp, and helping shine a national spotlight on Memphis hip-hop.
Returning to the sneaker, the textured upper spells out Ja’s first name with the vertical Swoosh on the midfoot and the slash marks. Ja is also spelled out via the TPU monogram print and on the traction pattern of the sole unit. Inside, the sneaker features a full-length ZoomX foam for a comfortable ride on the court.
The Nike Ja 3 Hustle & Flow will release on September 5, 2025, through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in full-family sizing, the retail price is $125 (men), $100 (GS), and $85 (PS).
