Still, when you mention an Uncle Phil, there is no way anyone’s mind doesn’t immediately go to Judge Philip Banks, played by the late James Avery on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. For Ja Morant, though, uncle Phil is just, well, his uncle Phil, and in Morant’s family, he’s just as deserving of accolades as Will Smith’s fictional father figure.
The Nike Ja 3 Uncle Phil is a testament to Morant’s family ties, dedicated to Ja’s uncle Phil, with a colorway based on a history of family vacations. The Uncle Phil colorway starts with a deep metallic blue upper across the engineered mesh and TPU support panels, with an icy light blue midsole broken up by volt yellow hits that match the laces, plus red accents on the Swooshes and tongue labels.
The new family-oriented Ja 3 colorway comes as part of a seven-pair 2026 preview featuring a handful of Ja 3 colorways inspired by his personality, candy taste, AAU team, college team, and more. Despite Morant’s recent on-court struggles, his signature sneaker remains one of Nike’s basketball bright spots.
