When the Nike Kobe line began production again after Bryant and his daughter Gigi’s tragic passing, the first sneaker from the return was an immediate showstopper. Bringing a Mambacita colorway to the Kobe 6 Protro dedicated to Gigi, all proceeds would go to the Mamba & Mambacita Sports Foundation. In the years since, the Mambacita theme has been the most sought-after staple in the Kobe line, and now, it looks like a Kobe 3 Protro is joining the tribute mix.
The Nike Kobe 3 Low Protro Mambacita keeps the theme consistent in black and white, starting with a shiny black patent toebox and heel panel, with white in the middle on the net-shaped breathable side structure. The laces go back to black and, like other Mambacita colorways, gold hits are added to the heel. Brogue-style trim is used on the edge of the black patent leather, giving the shoe an almost dress shoe vibe.
So far, we’ve only seen two quick preview photos of the pair, but it’s not much of a surprise considering the Kobe 3 Protro push from across Nike Basketball. In addition to NCAA PE colorways and a gemstone monochrome debuted by a five-star Michigan commit, the latest leaked sample added an EYBL PE to the silhouette’s early-year dominance.
The Nike Kobe 3 Low Protro Mambacita will be released Summer 2026, likely in May like other Mambacita releases, through Nike and select retailers in-store and online. Available in adult and grade school sizing, the retail prices are set at $200 (adult) and $122 (GS). For all the latest Nike Kobe news and drop info, download the Sole Retriever App.
