Walk of Fame: Nike is Bringing Back the Kobe 6 3D Hollywood for All-Star Weekend in LA

The NBA All-Star Game is coming to LA this year, and while the game might be hosted by the Clippers at the brand-new Intuit Dome in Inglewood, we all know the city of Los Angeles is a Lakers’ town at heart. In preparation for the All-Star focus on SoCal, Nike is toasting to LA’s most beloved forever all-star, Kobe Bryant.

The Nike Kobe 6 Protro 3D All-Star is a throwback to another LA-hosted All-Star Game in 2011, when Kobe took home the MVP in this two-tone 3D glasses colorway. Adding an out-of-focus mix of red, blue, and black on the snake scale upper of the Kobe 6 Protro, the left shoe features red branding on the lateral Swoosh, sheath tongue logo, and heel supports, but adds blue to the medial Swoosh. The right shoe flips that, with blue on the lateral Swoosh, heel stabilizer, and tongue logo, and red on the medial Swoosh.

Bryant didn’t wear the 3D Kobe 6 colorway on the court at the 2011 All-Star game, but he did save them for a significantly more important occasion over that All-Star Weekend, wearing the shoes when his footprint and handprints were cast in cement at Grauman's Chinese Theater, making him the first athlete in the theater’s Walk of Fame. After his death, Kobe’s Walk of Fame imprints were turned into a permanent display piece at the theater.
