Nike reintroduced the Air Force 1 in its beloved 2001 shape as part of a wider overall return to AF1 prominence following countless collabs and an SB remix, pushing the silhouette like Beaverton did Air Max 95s and Dunks in the first half of the 2020s. Now, after speaking to sneakerheads with an ‘01 AF1 revival from NIGO, Victor Victor, and a shiny Phil Knight tribute, the retro model is easing into the inline catalog for some more attainable drops.
The Nike Air Force 1 ‘01 Light Army is a return to the classics, making it a perfect fit for the ‘01 shape. Beyond this simple leather mix and the run of collabs, the ‘01 silhouette is hitting the catalog in a cracked patent combo pack and a subway rat suede to establish the ‘01 as a new staple in the Nike lineup.

Grey leather covers the entire upper on the Light Army pair, with black on the Swoosh and tongue tag and heel branding, white on the tongue and midsole, and a return to Light Army on the outsole. Beloved for its low-cut, streamlined shape and premium comfort, the Air Force 1 ‘01 has been at the top of the retro wishlist for AF1 obsessives, so it's nice to see some simple pairs join the collab-heavy debut.
The Nike Air Force 1 Low '01 Light Army will be released September 4, 2026 through Nike and select retailers in-store and online. Available in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at $130. For all the latest Nike AF1 news and drop info, download the Sole Retriever App.
