We are entering a golden age of dress shoes. Fashionistas in cities around the globe have realized that sneakers are not the be-all, end-all of footwear selections, matching carefully curated outfits with loafers, boots, and various other hard-bottom shoes. In turn, the trend shift has pushed sneaker brands to create dressy hybrids and luxurious versions of staple classics.
The latest Nike Air Force 1 joins the black tie party in a full coat of premium black leather, buckled up like a Monk Strap loafer. Starting with the same bad intentions as any black Air Force 1, the luxurious remix simplifies the paneling to its most basic form, trading a traditional Swoosh for a mini metallic silver version. Beyond the simplified stitching, the obvious shift is the lace cover.

Taking inspiration from classic Monk Strap dress shoes, the lace cover is attached to the upper on the medial side, and connects to two buckle closures at the bottom of the lateral side panel. The slick black cover features two straps to match the buckles, but can also hang open like the strap on a mid or high-top pair of Forces if you want to dress down the Luxe look.
The Nike Air Force 1 Low Luxe Black will be released Fall 2026 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in unisex sizing, the retail price is $140. For all the latest Nike Air Force 1 news and drop info, download the Sole Retriever App.
