The WNBA is back and better than ever. After tense negotiations between the league and the players association, the WNBA will return for its 30th season next month. Season 30 is set to be a big year for the W. Players are set to receive a pay bump, and two new teams are joining the mix, bringing the total to 15.
As the league’s apparel partner, Nike had to do it big for the anniversary of the WNBA. Jordan Brand is celebrating the women’s game on the court with a WNBA-themed version of the Jordan Heir Series 2, Nike Basketball cooked up a Sabrina 3 and GT Cut 4, and now Nike Sportswear is celebrating the W in the lifestyle sector with a 30th anniversary Nike Air Force 1 Low.
The Nike Air Force 1 Low WNBA 30th Anniversary is throwing it back to the roots of the league by implementing the league’s original red and blue color scheme before the switch to orange in 2013. The silhouette begins with an off-white leather base to give it that vintage look, fitting for something celebrating 30 years.
Instead of going bold like the red colorway of the 30th anniversary Nike Dunk Low, the Air Force 1 highlights the overlays and Swooshes with a thin blue outline while the leather edges get a pop of red, almost giving it a classic anaglyph 3D vibe. Other details include blue stripes on the heel of the sneaker and debossed Nike Air branding on the heel tab. A holographic badge on the lateral heel commemorating the league’s inception with “EST. April 24, 1996” completes the look.
The Nike Air Force 1 Low WNBA 30th Anniversary drops on April 24, 2026, via Nike and select retailers. Available in women’s sizing, the retail price is set at $125. For all the latest Nike basketball news and release info, download the Sole Retriever app.
