Air Max heads were treated to a much-requested retro when Nike brought back the original four-pillar “big bubble” Air unit in the original Nike Air Max 1. A solid run of releases hit shelves in both the standard build and the golf-ready variant, spanning throughout 2023 and 2024. While we’re still awaiting the release of the Chlorophyll Air Max 1 ‘86 OG in the golf build, a new Purple Punch colorway has appeared.
Unlike traditional Air Max 1 colorways, this pair opts for a unique colorblocking. Fuzzy suede overlays on the mudguard, midfoot, vamp, and eyelets come in a neutral grey hue, while the mesh base on the toe is white. Purple Punch details grace the midfoot mesh base, the mesh sockliner, and the suede heel overlay.
