It’s hard work being in the same division as Shohei Ohtani and the dynasty-seeking Dodgers, but if you’re going to go up against the champ - or start the season with a wild card hunt - you may as well do it in style. Nike is rolling out a pack of alternate jersey-inspired Air Maxes to kick off the MLB season, and this Padres Air Max 1 is the first preview up to bat.
The Nike Air Max 1 Padres City Connect matches the team’s latest Nike City Connect jerseys, marking a welcome transition away from the team’s yellow, green, and pink alternates from years past. For the ‘26 season, the Padres are laced in a tribute to the days of Tony Gwynn and Dia de los Muertos with a mix of blue, orange, and white, with light hits of pink to keep the neon theme intact.
On the matching Air Max 1, Nike adds shaggy navy blue suede to the toe and bottom stretch of the side panels, with navy leather on the top of the side panels, orange on the Swoosh, and white mesh on the toebox, tongue, and ankle collar. Pink leather accents fill in the rest of the upper, and a San Diego hit is added to the heel in white in the same font as the City Connect jersey front.
The Nike Air Max 1 Padres City Connect will be released May 15, 2026 through Nike and select retailers in-store and online. Available in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at $150. For all the latest Nike MLB news and drop info, download the Sole Retriever App.
