These are gonna sell out in the ‘Burgh quicker than a Paul Skenes fastball. After debuting a new set of City Connect jerseys for select teams across Major League Baseball, Nike is adding to the alternate uniform collection with matching pairs of collab Air Max 1s. Things kicked off with looks at the Padres and Braves colorways, and now the latest pair is going Northeast to Pirates country.
Debuted in an EQL raffle from local Pittsburgh sneaker boutique Social Status, the Nike Air Max 1 Pirates City Connect follows the Buccos City Connect jerseys in black, starting with a mix of black leather and weathered black nubuck across the upper. The Swoosh is a mix of gold and black to match the Pirates logo on the tongue tag, with a red border to match the laces.
A gold MLB lace dubrae features red and blue accents, while the off-white midsole adds more specks of gold to bring it back to the City Connect style. One last hit of gold is featured on the top lace loop, with a mix of red and black on the outsole.
The Nike Air Max 1 Pirates City Connect will be released Summer 2026 through Nike and select retailers in-store and online, with Social Status’ EQL raffle already open. Available in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at $150. For all the latest MLB Nike City Connect news and drop info, download the Sole Retriever App.
