Kansas City, Missouri, is one of America’s great sports towns, and we’re not just talking about Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs. Even with the Royals sitting at the bottom of the NL Central, the squad’s die-hard fan base is waiting patiently for Salvy Perez and Bobby Witt Jr. to turn things around. Despite the Royals’ spot in the standings, Nike is still showing out for the squad, adding yet another Air Max 1 colorway to Nike’s MLB City Connect collection.
The Nike Air Max 1 Royals City Connect was made to match the team’s new blue and purple gradient jersey that was inspired by the city’s 1991 logo. Starting with a crisp white upper, the shoe adds icy blue to the tongue and sockliner and royal purple to the outsole. Like the rest of the MLB City Connect Air Max 1 collection, the Royals pair adds an MLB logo lace dubrae to solidify the collab.
Taking things back to the Royals’ 1960s past, the redesigned “R” logo that’s featured on the team’s City Connect jerseys is added to the tongue logos in the same blue and purple gradient as the uniform, with the purple crown from the logo embroidered on the heel panel, and more Royals logos on the insoles.
The Nike Air Max 1 Royals City Connect will be released June 9, 2026 through the Royals team store, Nike, and select retailers in-store and online. Available in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at $150. For all the latest Nike MLB news and drop info, download the Sole Retriever App.
