Nike is having a lot of fun with Air Maxes lately. Not only did Beaverton go all out with a mix of new silhouettes, updated classics, and plenty of 95s, but The Swoosh is already getting started on next year’s celebration, launching the Air Works design workshop to bring a global perspective to the line. Keeping the good vibes going, Nike is adding a self-referential colorway to the latest pair of Air Max 90s.
Hot on the heels of the 3M Infrared remix, the Nike Air Max 90 Ultramarine is another classic colorway for the 1990 silhouette, this time cribbed directly from the Air Max 180. Taking on the OG 1991 Ultramarine colorway, the Air Max 90 brings the 180 back in time a year for a referential mash-up that works surprisingly well.

Featuring creamy suede on the toe and side panel and grey leather on the lower side panels and lace protection, the toebox and tongue get white fabric just like the 180, with blue hits on the Swoosh and sockliner, and the classic red accents on the tongue tag and surrounding the Air bubble.
The Nike Air Max 90 Ultramarine will be released April 1, 2026 overseas through Nike and select retailers in-store and online, but as of now, there’s no US release on the calendar. Available in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at $150. For all the latest Nike Air Max news and drop info, download the Sole Retriever mobile app.
