The aura is unmatched on the Nike GT Future. Thanks to some assistance from Wale and BYU Star AJ Dybantsa, the Nike Hyperflight-inspired silhouette has crossed the threshold of hoop shoes and into the world of fashion.
After a pearlescent version of the silhouette joined the Warning Label collection for NBA All-Star, famed Nike designer Frank Cooke took to Instagram to debut one of a handful of galaxy-inspired colorways. While the pair he wore features a bluer hue and vibrant green outsoles, a different version has appeared both in real life and in the gaming world.
Not only is the Nike GT Future Galaxy Aura hitting physical shelves, but the pair joined Nike’s superhero mascot, Swooshman, in the massively popular game Fortnite as a purchasable cosmetic item. Now, the game reveal is being followed by official images of the interstellar silhouette.
Where previous iterations of Galaxy colorways have opted to use graphics populated with stars, like the ever-iconic Foamposite One Galaxy, the Nike GT Future Galaxy Aura portrays the dark vastness of space. The silhouette’s molded upper comes dressed in black, but the Galaxy theme becomes apparent on the rest of the sneaker.
Moving back toward the heel, white stars slowly start to populate until you get to the side of the silhouette where the galaxy explodes to life in a burst of green and orange, radiating from the side panels to wrap around to the heel, which features a pair of brightly glowing stars.
The glossy black Swooshes found on the lateral and medial sides and tongue blend into the expanse of space. A black semi-translucent outsole completes the look while also adding a new glowing element to the silhouette. Tying it all together is a GT Future-branded dust bag included in the packaging.
