Coach Prime is still moving the needle in the sneaker game, long after Sanders hung up his dual-sport cleats. The 1990s NFL and MLB star is one of Nike’s most revered signature athletes, with a series of six pro shoes under his Diamond Turf cross-trainer label. As Deion’s son Shadeur starts his own NFL journey, Nike has been taking it back to the OG, bringing out Diamond Turf retros in colors inspired by Prime’s career highlights.
The latest Nike Diamond Turf retro is a re-release of an original colorway, and a callout to Sanders’ days in Dallas. The bulky cross-trainer is draped in blue and white Cowboys colors. Starting with blue nubuck on the toe, the two-tone white and college navy colorway continues with more blue on the tongue, lace panels, forefoot strap, and heel panel. The rest of the upper is done in white leather, with white on the top of the strap and a navy Swoosh popping off it.

The return of the OG Diamond Turf has already seen a 49ers-inspired colorway at the beginning of the year, plus a “Must Be the Money” colorway inspired by Deion’s rap career, and an Emerald pair. Nike’s Prime Time retro push has also carried over to clothing, with a new collection of t-shirts honoring Sanders’ legendary two-sport run in the ‘90s. Next year, Nike is bringing back the Diamond Turf 2 in an array of color schemes and will be launching the DT Max ‘96 in low-top form come Summer 2026.
The Nike Air Diamond Turf Cowboys will be released Holiday 2025 through Nike and select retailers in-store and online. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $155. For all the latest Nike drop news, download the Sole Retriever mobile app.
