Nike Brings Dr. Doom to the Gridiron with New Vaporposite Pro Colorway

Do we think it’s a coincidence that Nike timed the retro release of the Nike Air Foamposite Pro Dr. Doom to the same calendar year as the new film introducing him into the MCU? You can take off your conspiratorial tin foil hat; it just so happens that 2026 marks the 20th anniversary of the original release of the colorway. To go alongside a proper retro release of the Dr. Doom Foamposite Pro, Nike will bring the black and white colorway to the gridiron with a Vaporposite Pro to match.

Pictured here is an accurate speculative mock-up of what the Dr. Doom Nike Vaporposite Pro will look like. Nike is expected to translate the Foamposite Pro colorway in 1:1 fashion for this cleated makeover, applying black hues to the Foamposite material, knit bootie, laces, and reinforced eyestay. White is present on the Swoosh and on the cleated tooling below.

Nike first dropped the cleated variant of the Foamposite Pro last year in the Pearl colorway, with plenty of NFL stars getting to rock the cleats last season. The Oregon Ducks also received their own PE colorway of the cleat, as Nike wrapped it in a Mummy Duck makeup, but there are more pairs for the public on the way in 2026. In addition to the Dr. Doom pair, there will be a Game Royal and a University Red version of the Vaporposite Pro.
