The sneaker industry has largely gotten away from the concept of shrinking and pinking in women’s shoes. Instead of adding bright colorways of men’s shoes to the catalog in women’s sizing, brands like Nike have taken on designers and collaborators with strong concepts about the shape and future of women’s footwear. Sometimes, though, you’ve still gotta, well, shrink it and pink it.
The Nike Air More Uptempo Pink Blast (W) features a monochrome upper in bright bubblegum pink leather and mesh with shiny black leather on the massive AIR side panel branding and the Swooshes swooping across the toebox. An elastic strap sits across the top of the tongue, with an endless circle of laces that don’t require tying. To make it easier to slip on and off, a tongue and heel tab loop over the top of the shoe.
