The entire sneaker industry is heading to the track to get some miles in, and Puma is no different. Continuing the brand’s ongoing collaboration with multi-talented designer Salehe Bembury, the Big Cat is looking for a new PR with the help of a Velum Nitro designed in earth tones, following Bembury’s classic nature-themed inspiration, this time designed with a UV-reactive upper.
The Salehe Bembury x Puma Velum Nitro Akita gets its name from a Japanese dog breed known for its thick coat of tan brown fur, with the upper of the shoe adding a light brown shade to mimic this. Adding some Salehe-specific design details, the upper features a series of cut-out panels with mesh underneath for extra breathability, and a disintegrating graphic texture on the Puma stripe on the side panel.
