Vans found a diamond in the rough. Starting with Mattias Gollin’s beaded Authentics, the OG SoCal skate shop brand has remade itself in the reflection of a jewelry store window, adding gems of all shapes, sizes, and colors to classic silhouettes. The resulting Pearlized Packs have reinvigorated love for the brand altogether, with long lines for the exclusive releases and high resale prices on the secondary market.
The Vans Old Skool 36 Pearlized Pack Rust Brown is the latest colorway of the Old Skool to fall out of an oyster’s mouth, adding faux pearls set in silver around the top of the toebox, the heel panel, the top of the tongue, and the side panel stripe logo.

On the Rust Brown pair, the Old Skool 36 gets a monochrome base of the reddish brown shade that switches tones based on material, with darker suede on the toebox, lace panel, and heel, and slightly lighter canvas on the side panels and tongue. The pearls are added in white and clear, with the larger stones in white and the smaller clear stones sitting in between.
The Vans Old Skool 36 Pearlized Pack Rust Brown will be released April 21, 2026 through Vans and select retailers in-store and online. Available in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at $130. For all the latest Pearlized Vans news and drop info, download the Sole Retriever App.
